Why You Should Embrace Hip-Hop in Your Life

Hip-Hip is a culture partly manifested by music. As a collective, it represents the personification of life in all its beauties and struggles. Through song and lyrics, alone people from all walks of life can come together in understanding the meaning of life through the eyes of another.
Many songs have been created that fall under the hip-hop genre, and all of them have a message of some sort. It is our job, as the listeners, to look at these meanings and decide how we will interpret them. For every song that deals with crime, sex, and violence there are songs about hope, respect, and living out your dreams. Hip-Hop personifies the human experience without sugarcoating it. If we are to grow into well-rounded individuals we need to accept all life has to offer.
Following dreams and passions is something that is largely discussed in just about every form of media out there and music is no acceptation. Despite this, it seems like people are trapped doing jobs they hate just to make ends meet. Hip-hop illuminates the significant of following passions and dreams and the fact that following those dreams is not always easy. Artists have to work hard to realize their goals, and with the ferocity and pace, this world seems to revolve around, it’s difficult to stay relevant. There is no one set path to traverse when it comes to obtaining your dreams, but one thing is for sure, the sense of fulfillment is immense and there is nothing else in the world quite like it.
Hip-hop personifies the notion of being comfortable in your own skin, and that doesn’t just mean being comfortable with your looks. Self-acceptance is one of the largest hurdles many people have to overcome. Many of us have things we don’t like about ourselves and that can be difficult to live with. So, hearing about others who love and accept themselves (particularly if they are people you look up to or admire) can bring comfort. Take away the titles and conceived notions about one another and you’ll quickly realize we’re all on this earth struggling together.
