Major vs Minor Scales

There are many musical scales for one to play on, the blues scale, pentatonic scale, and of course the major and minor scales are just a few of many people could play on. Each scale gives the song a different sound, because of this, different scales are used for different songs. Scales are also altered to match the singer’s voice, so the entire song will sound good.
Minor scales have a sort of sad sound to them it is for that reason minor scales are typically used to play songs like ballad-love songs and sad songs. There are several notes to be played from the minor scale. For example, A minor notes consist of A, B, C, D, E, F, G, and A while F minor notes consist of F, G, Ab, Bb, C, Db, Eb, and F. If you play the notes specific to the scale you are playing in it will sound correct.
Major scales have a sort of happy uplifting sound to them so typically if you want a song to sound happy you’ll play it in one of the major scales. In addition to that major scales are the most common. Take the C major, its notes consist of C, D, E, F, G, A, B, and C. Notice that the notes are the same as the A minor, the only difference is the starting and ending notes.
There are many different scales so you have many to choose from. It really is a matter of preference because you can play almost any song regardless of which scale you choose. Sure, it may sound a little different but differences are not a such a bad thing and it could even add some uniqueness to the music. Regardless of which scale you choose to play on the most important thing is that you have fun!
