Notes of life
Music is a series of notes together to make one single piece. In a way, you could say notes are the cells of music. The type of note, instrument, and how it is played will determine how said note impacts the entire piece but have you ever thought of the types of music found throughout life, in particular nature?
Music exists naturally and has well before the first musical instruments appeared on the scene. Perhaps the most popular example is when animals sing. The song of the humpback whale has been said to be similarly constructed to that of human composers. Harvard University recorded different soundscapes of nature. One of their findings showed a drastic alteration in soundscape after selective logging. What was once a sound full and teeming with life became more hushed, truly a shadow of its former self. In that regard let us not forget the impact Humans have on both natural music and our own music. When things happen, be it large or small, happy or sad. Those emotions travel through our world, and most notably our music, like a ripple in a still pond. Sometimes that ripple may be interrupted by things contained within the pond so the ripple may not impact all areas of said pond. Some events are larger than others, some events create multiple ripples, life skipping stone. But everything, at some level or another, has an impact on something else.
In truth, music can be found in a lot of things, if you take the time to listen to the songs produced by other living things you may gain a better appreciation for the world around you. The world is filled with song.
